LIGHTER CASE
carved wax cast in sterling silver

INSPIRATION
Tripod vessels and cauldrons ranging from 12th-11th century BC inform the base of the lighter case.
Found at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. I've also seen lighter cases sold by Celine and Ambush but without a strap.

PROCESS
I carve the wax with manual tools as well as an electric drill bit. I'm also making sure the lighter fits in the wax as I go. The wax is carved to just 1-2 millimeters in thickness. Once achieved, the wax is sent to the Diamond District to get cast in sterling silver. After casting, I manually smooth out the surface and polish. A crossbody chain is added for convenient carry.
