These pictures are from my third-year apartment in Charlottesville, VA.
Initially, the desk faced the window, but I moved it to keep the view unobstructed. I also liked how the carpet and walls were neutral colors so I tried to elevate that with my black and white frames. These are frames featuring pictures I've taken on my past travels. In this apartment, I also made use of my polaroids to extend off the black and white theme. I placed them side by side in the corner of the wall to continue the flow between those two back walls to make the space feel less enclosing. It makes your eyes flow from each wall, making the boxy space feel more fluid.
On the desk are a collection of objects that remind me of fashion. Since there is no fashion program at the University of Virginia, I needed reminders of the creativity that I want to be a part of. Objects include Maison Margiela perfume samples I got from the store in the West Village and Calvin Klein boxed water and popcorn from the store on Madison Ave.
